Homemade Pizza

My family LOVES Homemade Pizza!  I've been making it for awhile now, but just recently started making the dough from scratch!  I used to use the pizza dough mixes from the store, but since I started couponing I hardly ever see a coupon for those so I decided to try and make them from scratch.  Guess what??  It's easy!!  Here's a quick recipe for my family's homemade pizza!

No Yeast Pizza Dough

·         2 cups all purpose flour  
·         1 tbsp baking powder
·         1/4 tsp salt
·         2/3 cup water
·         1 tbsp cooking oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare pizza pan (I use pizza stones) by spraying with non-stick cooking spray. Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add liquids and stir to incorporate dry ingredients. Knead dough by hand on a lightly floured surface. Roll dough thinly. Place rolled dough onto prepared pizza pan and place in oven for 2-3 minutes to pre-cook the crust.  Remove from oven, add favorite sauce and toppings. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes, depending on crust thickness.

This particular time I used pizza sauce (of course), onions, cheese, hamburger meat & pepperonis.  But you can always change up the toppings.  Next time, I’d like to try a healthier version with some fresh veggies.  Or maybe even a chicken pizza!

  2. for spaghetti sauce, take one cup of chopped onion saute in about 1 to 2 tbps of olive oil until they are nearly clear in color (about 5minutes) then add 2 chopped garlic cloves for 2 minutes. next you will can add your meat (my family enjoys italian sausage) and brown it. you will then add one large can of crushed tomatos and 1 small can of tomato paste, mix it with the meat and onions. you will also add basil (fresh or dried) 1 cup of fresh or 1 to 2 tbsp of dried and parsley (i put about a quarter size of dried). let all of it simmer for about 25 to 30 minutes and you will never buy canned sauce again. it also is great for lasagna too. hope this helps.

  4. I found and made this awesome pizza sauce recipe. My family loved it and it was super-easy to make.


    My foolproof recipe:

    2 Tbs. olive oil
    2 large cloves garlic, minced
    2/ 8 oz cans tomato sauce
    2 bay leaves
    1 Tbs. dried basil
    1 tea. salt
    1 tea. honey

    Heat olive oil over med. heat in saucepan. Add garlic and stir about until fragrant (30 sec.) Add remainder of ingredients, bring to boil, stirring to prevent scortching until it boils. Reduce heat to extra low (on gas range) and simmer, covered 15 min. Remove bay leaves. Freezes well. For a sweeter sauce, add 2-3 more tea. honey.
