Savings 101, Part 6 :: What Should I Do When My Coupons Expire?

This is a continuation of the Savings 101 series.  You can find the other parts of the series here.
If you’re like I was, you probably mourn the loss of your expired coupons as you throw them away at the end of each month.  Guess what? There’s no reason to be sad!  Did you know that you can send them overseas to help out military families? That's right! Military families can use expired coupons (up to 6 months expired) at their commissary. There is a great non-profit organization called Overseas Coupon Program that helps get coupons to the military families overseas. You can even pick the base that you would like to “adopt”. Go here to check it all out.
Now, you don’t have any reason to be disappointed when you find an expired coupon you didn’t have a chance to use, because now someone else might get to!
Stay tuned for the next part of Savings 101 coming soon!

  2. The coupons are so helpful when you are stationed over seas. We were in germany for 3 years and it really helped us to stretch an already tight budget a little farther.
