Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

"Whatever you do whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Col. 3:17

Do you ever feel like the things you do are sometimes useless?  Like they don’t make a difference, really?  After reading these scriptures and pondering on them I was reminded that everything we do matters.  It doesn’t matter whether we’re working in the corporate world or a stay-at-home mother--as long as what we are doing is done to glorify God it will make a difference.  We may not see the result immediately or maybe not even in our lifetime, but if we put our focus on Christ and do everything to honor Him then nothing we do is useless.  So, the next time you’re cleaning up crumbs, changing a dirty diaper, or taking out the trash, remember to look at Who we are doing them for, and when we adjust our attitude towards doing them even taking out the trash can be done for the glory of God.

As we carry out the tasks that God has given us, no matter how mundane or seemingly insignificant we can still share the love of Christ.  So, as we as mothers carry out our God-given task in the home, we can still shine our light before men as we go the grocery store, get gas at the gas station, and other various. And, as we are carrying out our job in the home, our husbands and others can be shining their lights before men in the workplace, no matter what job it can be done for His glory!!

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
