Reader Question: "If I wanted to buy 2 sale items and I had 2 coupons, could I purchase both in same transaction?"

Today's Question: "If I wanted to buy 2 sale items and I had 2 coupons, could I purchase both in same transaction?  Is there a limit of identical coupons that I can use as long as I have the product to match it?"

Answer: Yes, you can use more than one "like" coupon in a transaction.  Usually the coupon states a limit of 4 (especially if it is a P&G), so no more than the limit stated on the coupon.  The main reason for multiple transactions, though, is so the coupon will double.  All of the stores around here only double one "like" coupon per transaction.  So if you were buying a box of cereal and had a $1.00 off coupon, it would really be $2.00 off, BUT if you bought two boxes and used two of the $1.00 off coupons, only one of them would double to $2.00, the next one would be just $1.00.  That's the reason I do multiple transactions--so I'll still get all my doubles.

Reader Question :: "Do you use coupons on EVERY thing you buy?"

Answer: No, I don't use a coupon on everything I buy.  It's just not feasible.  You are correct there are hardly ever fresh fruit/veggie coupons or bread/milk etc.  Sometimes you'll have to buy things you don't have a coupon for.  And it's okay!  I have started buying lots of frozen veggies though because I do see lots of coupons for those items.  In fact, in my latest Apple Market trip, I "had" to buy chocolate chips, eggs, & a coke without a coupon.  It threw off my percentage a bit, but that's just reality!

If you have a question you've been wondering about, please feel free to contact me!  I'd be more than happy to try to give you an answer to your questions!

Reader Question :: "Is it okay to make copies of coupons?"

I've decided to start a new segment for the blog, Reader Questions.  I've been receiving several questions lately via email and facebook and started thinking that there were probably more people with some of the same questions.  So, every few days (or whenever I receive more questions), I'll try to post a new question and answer.  If you send in a question, please know I will answer it eventually.  I receive several each day and try my best to get them answered as quickly as possible.

First of all, let me say that I love hearing from you!  Whether it's a question or just a comment I still like to hear what you have to say.  Thank you for being such great readers! :)

Today's Question:  "Is it okay to make copies of coupons?"

Answer:  NO!  Actually this is considered coupon fraud!  This is a great question to ask though, because I know, especially as a new couponer, it's so exciting to get all those printable coupons and you just want to find more and more.  The easiest solution would be to make copies!  But, each and every coupon states that copying or altering coupons in any way is considered coupon fraud.  Plus, the printable coupons have special markings on them that would make it somewhat obvious that it was a fake.  Also, we, as ethical couponers, would never want to do anything to cheat the store out of their reimbursement for the coupons and if we copied the coupons, they would not receive payment from the manufacturer.

If you have a question you've been wondering about, please feel free to contact me!  I'd be more than happy to try to give you an answer to your questions!
