I've already made sweet potatoes, avocados, bananas and pears.
This post is about making green beans. These are best introduced to babies that are at least 6 months old.
Here's what you'll need:
- Fresh or Frozen Green Beans (I used fresh)
- Ice Cube Trays
- Freezer Bags
And here are the very simple directions:
Start by washing the green beans under running water. Remove both ends of the beans by either snapping them off or cutting them with a knife.
Place the green beans in a microwaveable bowl and cover with water (just enough to cover the beans).
Microwave for about 15 minutes or until tender. I think I did about 20 minutes or so. After you've cooked them, cover and let them sit for about 5 minutes.
Next, place the green beens in the blender with as little water as possible (you don't want them to get too runny, you can always add water later). Puree.
Spoon into ice cube trays and place in the freezer. After they've frozen overnight pop them out of the trays into a freezer storage bag! Make sure to label the bag so you'll know what the food is and when you prepared it!
That's it! Now you're little one can be eating healthy green vegetables. My little girl LOVED these! She didn't even make the "yucky" face! :)
