Wednesday's Words of Wisdom--His Strength is Perfect

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?  Exhausted? Discouraged?  Like you just can't go on another day?  I know I have, and when it sets in it can be really hard to overcome.  It's so much easier to just continue on in that rut of life, knowing that it will get better eventually.  But what are we doing during the tough times?  Should we just be existing? Trying to only survive until we make it through? Or should we make something out of the hard times?  Should we be intentionally living even during the trials that come our way?

I've been reading, praying and thinking on this subject lately.....and to be honest, it's just hard!  It's hard to have the motivation needed when you're faced with life's trials.  But here's what I've discovered, and maybe this will or maybe it won't speak to you, but I know that personally this is the only thing that can help and give me strength.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 12:10: "Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."

That's the answer that I found.  Instead of just surviving and barely making it through the tough times, I am to be "well content with weaknesses...."  I know that no matter the trial or difficulty that with Christ by my side I will be able to stand strong and endure to the end.  Just like the basic song we all learned as kids says: "We are weak, but He is strong."

I am so thankful that even when I'm discouraged, even when I don't know what to do, I always know Who to turn to.  I've known this song for awhile, but we just sang it recently at church and the lyrics of it really spoke to me and I think go along perfectly with the theme of this post:

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone;
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on.
Raised in His power, the weak become strong;
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.
