Wednesday's Words of Wisdom--Armor of God

While we read and read and read, at times, we fail to take the Scriptures in a literal sense.   Because the battles are real and because life is difficult, we must read the Word of God in order to be fully equipped.    Scriptures help us as we walk this life.  Here are some that we should take literally and should apply.

It "takes" a lot of effort . . . the act of being very intentional to be prepared for battle.

Lots of preparation . . . . yet, most professing Christians do not prepare themselves for the battle that the Bible refers to in Ephesians 6 and we can leave ourselves wide open to the "wiles of the devil" . . . .

With this Scripture in mind, professing Christians should have a desire to get equipped each day . . . not once a week.   These verses can cause one to "swallow" pretty hard when making it really soak in at what kind of battle we are really in. . . . unless of course, one doesn't believe what Scripture says.

The Bible says that we wrestle agaisnt principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkess of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Putting on the "full" armor of God can be difficult . . . it takes intention and time.   It requires preparation on each individual's part . .  .not a community effort, but an individual effort.
Therefore; going to church once a week or three times a week is not putting on the full armor of God . . . that's a community effort and in a community, we can get false security.   It must be an individual effort.

The full armor of God is:  Truth -- the whole truth; Righteousness; Gospel of Jesus Christ which leads to peace; faith; the helmet of Salvation -- (To know what true Salvation is . . . know in your head where Salvation comes from and you can receive Him with a genuine heart change);  The WORD (the Bible) of God;  and this last one is another biggy that most people do on the run, PRAYER . . .  . .

For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood . . .  .(the battle is not with people we know, but against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places) . . .  .That alone should lead to a desire to put on the whole armor and to want each of our family members to know what they can do to guard themselves against attacks that "will" and "do" come.
We have a promise of battles . .  .not a possibility.

If you don't feel like you are in a battle, someone you know is . . . it might be a loved one . . . your spouse, your child, your parent, a sibling . . .  .the least you can do is know how to help them in their battle . .  .lead them to Scripture.

If you are not in a battle today, be prepared, because you will get in one . . .  .that's a promise of living in this world.  But, God is prepared to help you with the answer of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit . .   .the full armor of God is your equipment.   You will win if prepared . . . .
