Today's Walgreens Shopping Trip! Spent Only $.17 After Coupons & Rewards!

This morning on our way to church, the girls (yes, all three of them) and myself went into Walgreens to do a little coupon shopping!  It has been ages since I've had a coupon trip to Walgreens, and this was definitely the first time I've taken all three girls with me!  Everything went great!  The girls behaved well, there were no issues with coupons, and I got some super deals!

Here's what I bought:

Transaction #1:

(2) Scott Natural Paper Towels 6 Rolls, $5.00--used $1/1 HERE, and $1/1 June Coupon Booklet = $3.00 each

(2) Ada Newspapers, $2.50

(2) Gain Dishsoap, $.89 each--used $.25 from inserts = $.64 each

Total amount BEFORE coupons :: $17.18

Total amount AFTER coupons & rewards :: $3.88!
*I had 5,000 Balance Rewards that I did cash in on this transaction which helped bring my total down.

That's a savings of 78%!!

Transaction 2:

(4) Nivea Shave Cream, $3.79 BOGO--used $3/2 HERE = $.79 each, plus earn 6,000 Balance Rewards!

Total amount BEFORE coupons :: $15.87

Total amount AFTER coupons :: $2.29 (plus I earned 6,000 rewards which is worth $6!! That means I actually MADE $3.71 on this transaction!!)

Total with both transactions together BEFORE coupons :: $33.05

Total with both transactions together AFTER coupons :: $6.17 (plus I earned 6,000 points = $6, so it's like I only spent $.17!)

That's a total savings of 99% when you factor in the rewards!

*Note: I had to do two separate transactions because I wanted to use my previous rewards to pay for my items.  When you use rewards to pay, you don't earn them on the eligible products.  Since I was buying the Nivea Shave Cream that yielded 6,000 points, I wanted to make sure I bought them in a separate transaction so I could earn the points.
