Last Night's Walgreens Shopping Trip!

I know this is shocking to most of you since I've been out of the coupon groove lately, but after dinner last night I snuck away from the house alone (yes, without any of my 3 girls) and ran into Walgreens for a quick coupon trip!

I didn't really have plans to buy much, but our stockpile was running low on toilet tissue.  I only had one package remaining so I decided to run in for the Quilted Northern deal that's going on this week.  I also was planning to grab some dish soap as we are on our last bottle of that too, but I forgot my coupons (imagine that), so I'll have to go back in for that!  Obviously, it's been too long since I've been couponing since my stockpile is running so low....

Anyway....on to the coupon trip.  Here's what I bought:

(3) Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong 9 BIG rolls = 13 regular rolls.

I used the $.50/1 coupon in the Walgreens September Coupon Booklet, which took off $1.50.

These are regular $4.29 each, but they are on sale this week for $3.49.  Once you combine the coupon and sale, you get them for $2.99 per package.  That's not necessarily a fantastic price, but it is a nice price and considering we are on our last package--and we needed it--this was the best sale going on this week to stock up.

That's $.33 per BIG roll or $.23 per roll if you count it as equal to 13 rolls like the package says.

My total came to $9.95, but I had $1 of Balance Rewards to apply which brought my total to $8.95 for 27 rolls of toilet tissue.  Not too bad.....and it definitely brings the inventory of my stockpile back up to a more acceptable level!  :)

I'll update you on my next shopping trip soon!

  1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's been out of the groove too! Trying to do one small coupon trip a week. Sat down yesterday to get my binder back in sorts and it took more than 2 hours to clip and sort... bleh still not 100% done but it looks much better. Most of the coupons expired in May!! It's looking up though!
