First, I want to say thank you to all of you readers who have helped make my blog what it is today. If it weren't for all of you reading and sharing my posts this blog would still be what it was when I began it in January of 2011.
In recent months I have found it increasingly harder to keep up with my website. As most of you know, I run this coupon blog completely on my own with no assistance. As you can imagine, it is pretty hard to keep up on all the weekly matchups, the hot deals/coupons of the day, and other miscellaneous blogging material! Ideally, I would like to be able to post deals all day long. I would like to keep you up to date with all the weekly matchups, the new coupons each day, the hot online deals you don't want to miss, the freebies that are too good to pass up, the cute, creativ DIY projects, genius homeschooling ideas, etc.... However, most of the bloggers that you follow that are able to do that---have help and lots of it!
I am a pastor's wife, homeschooling mommy of three girls five and under. I also teach private piano lessons, am the choir/music director at my church, as well as various volunteer activities that I take on either church related or in my personal life. And then there's always the normal wifely, motherly duties along with housework. I began this blog with aspirations of being able to keep it up and let it grow. I also wanted it to be a blessing to each and every reader's family--not only by helping you save money, but also by being an encouragement to you.
I feel like I am not fulfilling my goal for the site, but in order to fulfill my goal for the site I would have to sacrifice a lot of my family time. I have also prayed about it and know that I have to have my priorities straight. My family is of utmost importance. I don't want my children to grow up and me regret not spending enough time with them when they were little because I was too busy on the computer! I'm going to be completely honest with you here---the reason I've kept it up for so long is because the extra money I make each month from running the site (although not much at all) is helpful for my family. Since I stay at home, this has been my way of supplementing the income--even though it's a very small supplement.
Let me say this. I'm not planning to totally rid myself of the site. At least not at the moment. I plan to continue posting store matchups weekly and even the normal deals when I find the time. I also plan to make it through holiday season, as there are usually a lot of nice deals at that time. However, these next 3-4 months I will be doing some extreme site evaluations. I'm going to be paying very close attention to the statistics and also will appreciate a lot of reader's feedback. I need to know what you look for in this site. What type of posts do you appreciate the most? Which ones do you not like or need? At the end of this evaluation time, I will likely make some changes. It may be that I just decrease some of my weekly obligations, or maybe change up some other things.....or quit the site all together. Will you PLEASE take the time to answer this short 10 question survey for me? It will help me to know what you like most about my site and what you could do without.
