The Frugal Family Life is Coming Back!!

Good morning!  It's been quite awhile since I've logged onto the blog to write a "real" post.  Most of you probably remember last October when I wrote up an honest post letting you all know that "I just can't do it all anymore." That still rings true.  I can't do it all.  However, in these past (almost) 7 months I have had a lot of time to do a lot of reflection.  I have enjoyed the break from the stress I had created for myself on the blog.  But, I have also missed the excitement of being able to sit down at the computer and share some of my thoughts or good deals.  I also believe that God has given me this platform to be a witness for Him.  He blessed this blog and allowed it to grow to the point that it had and I believe He has a lot more for me to share.  That's one of the reasons I begun the blog in the first place and sadly, I let that part go to the wayside way too quickly.  I want to be a witness for the Lord and I want this blog to be a light shining in the darkness.  So, after a lot of contemplation, discussion with my husband and prayer, I have decided to revive the blog! Sorry for my fickleness, but hey, we are all a little fickle sometimes, right?  I am excited to get back in the swing of things, however, I have set some new "rules" for myself.

First of all, you're going to see the real me.  Although I tried to be as transparent as I possibly could before, I was still trying to be someone I couldn't.  I was trying too hard to keep up with the big coupon bloggers (those who have a whole staff working for them).  I was spending too much time trying to do too many different store matchups and I was not posting anything from my personal life because I was too busy posting the other stuff.  I was creating my own stressful, rigid schedule. I'm not going to do that anymore.  :)  I was also in the midst of a very tiring time of life.  I had a newborn baby who didn't like to sleep.  I was getting up to nurse her several times a night and then trying to go about my day taking care of three children on little to no sleep.  That combined with everything else led to the realization that I needed a break, I needed to rest.  Now, I don't mean to say having three children ages 5 and under is easy now--just a few months later, because it's far from easy, but at least my baby is sleeping, which, in turn, means I am getting to sleep.  A well rested mommy makes for a more productive mommy.  :)

So here's my plan (and please know that there may still be other changes):

I plan to post local store matchups for my area.  That includes Nichols, Apple Market and possibly a price match matchup list to use at Nichols (explanation coming later).  At this time I do not plan to post CVS, Homeland, Country Mart, United, etc.  Those stores are not in my area and it was becoming too hard for me to try and round up all those matchups previously.  As far as Walgreens and Walmart go, I will post some deals, but most likely not weekly.  Walgreens has changed their coupon policy in recent days and I'm just not finding as good of deals.  So, for those two stores I will post when I see something that I think is a really good deal, but I'm not going to tie myself down to doing weekly matchups for them.

I do plan to post other good deals once in awhile.  Whether it be a coupon, online Amazon deal, or other type of deal, if I think it's worthy of being posted, I'll get it done.  If not, I may overlook it.  It's just not feasible for me to post every single deal I see on the internet.

I do plan on posting some more things from my personal life; shopping trip posts, homeschooling, recipes, Christian life views, fitness related (I love to run), or just something that's on my mind.  No, these things don't really "go" with the coupon blog genre, but it's who I am.  And that's what I feel like I need to share--me.

So, I would like to tell you all "thank you" for sticking with me for these past few months while I sorted through things.  Thank you for being so supportive and encouraging throughout the years that I did have the blog and even in the months of my break.

I will hop back on the wagon now and get to posting.  Please be patient with me as I try to figure this all out again.  I have so many things I want to share with you all I don't even know where to start!  I'm back.......   :)

  1. Sounds awesome! :) I had just started following you before you took your break, so I'm excited to read all about it! As far as not posting deals for every store, I don't see how anyone could blame you!
